More Local Food

Why We Invested

To help local families bring home healthy local produce while supporting local farmers

DA BUX Double Up Food Bucks is a triple-win because the program empowers low-income consumers to eat healthy food, helps local farmers sustain their operations, and promotes more local food production in Hawaii. Administered by The Food Basket in partnership with the Hawaii Good Food Alliance, the pilot program doubles the value of benefits from the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) spent on local food at participating retail grocers.

Our Partner

The Food Basket’s mission is to end hunger in Hawaii County. Its vision is for Hawaii County to be a model for food security and sustainability through the distribution of the safest and highest quality food.
